Single sign-on (SSO) setup

Single sign-on (SSO) is available for customers on an Enterprise plan (see pricing page for additional detail or to upgrade) and is available for:

Azure AD setup

  1. Within the Azure Classic Portal, click Active Directory.
  2. From the directory for which you want to enable directory integration, click Applications.
  3. Click Add > What do you want to do > Add an application from the gallery, then search for Mixpanel, and click Complete.
  4. Switch over to your Mixpanel project’s application integration page, and click Configure single sign-on > Microsoft Azure AD Single Sign-On.
  5. In the Configure App Settings dialogue, type the URL used by your users to sign on (e.g., https://mixpanel.com/login/), and click Next.
  6. Click Download Certificate, copy the Single Sign-On Service URL field, and paste that URL into Mixpanel.
  7. Grant your users access to Mixpanel by clicking Users on the MIxpanel application integration page, selecting the users to which you’d like to provide access, and clicking Assign.

Okta setup

  1. Sign into Okta as an Admin
  2. Go to Add Applications from the Admin Dashboard
  3. Search for Mixpanel, then click Add
  4. Switch over to your Mixpanel project, go to SSO Settings, and copy the URL in the field called Postback URL.
  5. Switch back to Okta, and add paste your Mixpanel postback URL to Okta under Postback URL, Recipient, and Destination.
  6. Set Audience Restriction to Mixpanel, and set Name ID Format to EmailAddress.
  7. Ensure Response is set to Unsigned, and click Next to add Okta users to the Mixpanel app.
  8. Once you have added users, click Next to complete the setup process.
  9. Return to your Mixpanel project, and set up single sign-on there using your public certificate and authentication URL.

OneLogin setup

  1. Within OneLogin, click Apps > Add App, search for Mixpanel, and click Save to add it to your portal.
  2. Switch over to your Mixpanel project, go to SSO Settings, and copy the URL in the field called Postback URL.
  3. Switch back to OneLogin, click Apps > Company Apps, and click on the Mixpanel app.
  4. Under the Configuration tab, you will find a field labeled SAML Consumer URL - paste the Postback URL you grabbed in step four here, and click Save.
  5. Return to your Mixpanel project, and set up single sign-on there using your public certificate and authentication URL.
